Well.. here I am in Melbourne. And wowza! it's going really well. We're still being 'orientated' and stuff (the first three weeks are orientation and training) and then we'll be hitting the ground running and doing lots of stuff around Melbourne. I'm really excited about it.
We've been hearing lots of stories this week about the amazing work that God is doing through Melbourne614. I was amazed to hear some of the stories. I shouldn't be- we have a God who's business is transforming lives, so why should I doubt that he'd actually come through and do it.
Some of the stuff I'm going to be doing this year isn't going to be fun. It's going to be downright scary, but I know that it's going to be in those places that God changes and breaks me so he can mould be into who he wants me to be. It's not always going to be comfortable, and it's not always going to be 'safe'.
Saw this quote somewhere (don't know where now! bad memory, i know! lol) and thought a lot of it.
"If you want to save the roughs… Go to them. There are certain parts in every town where they are to be found. You need not be in a neighbourhood a single day without knowing their haunts. And i agree... it's time to stop singing about it, and time to live it out!
